The Story Behind
"Mountain View Wellness"

"And Jesus went up on the mountain, and there He sat with His disciples." John 6:3

In 2019, I had an amazing opportunity for a fresh start in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in Asheville, NC. What I thought was the beginning of a new chapter was much more than that. God led me there to grow closer to Him. A good majority of my time was spent hiking and waterfall hunting, but most importantly, these became my "Walks with God". Every adventure was a prayer, a conversation, a new awareness. What I began to notice was the magnitude of healing that I experienced being immersed in the outdoors. I felt at home, at peace. I felt free.

I have found that nature is full of valuable symbolism (reflections) that can translate into everyday life, including the way we perceive and care for the human body. If you have ever been on top of a mountain before, then I am sure you can attest to the breathtaking awareness of all that surrounds you, an awareness that you could never experience at the base. But that perspective would be unattainable without the steps taken towards the summit. Destinations are their own kind of wonderful, but never mistake the journey that is required to get there; each step is necessary to to reach greater heights.

While I was hiking one day, I was pondering over how I wanted to educate and further serve the community through my work, and the name "mountain view muse" popped into my mind. It resonated beautifully, as the mountains have been a major source of healing inspiration for me and have encouraged both personal and professional transformation. I knew it was the perfect name to illustrate the essence of any healing journey: greater awareness and growth. Thus, the foundation of Mountain View Wellness was established. But much like we personally go through periods of growth and change, businesses do too. As time progressed, I felt inspired to transition my business name to more fully encapsulate and define the direction this practice is heading (while preserving the foundational inspiration and symbolism) with the future incorporation of professional counseling and additional holistic therapies in the years to come.
